    Route & Parking

    Public transport

Hotel Beijers is walking distance from Utrecht Central Station, but if you would prefer to take the bus, take one that stops at Janskerkhof, it is less than 5 minutes to walk to the hotel from there.

    By car

We have to be honest; Utrecht is not a very car-friendly city. It can be a challenge to find a car park, and it is expensive. It is easy to get to Hotel Beijers by public transport, and you won’t need a car because nearly everything is within walking distance.

If you do come by car, we have a  public car park. We recommend parking at P Springweg. This car park is also a five-minute walk away from the hotel and costs €3.60 an hour or €36 for 24 hours.

    Surrounded by History

    Vischmarkt

The Vismarkt is the street in which Logement Petit Beijers is located on the Oudegracht. The Oudegracht, the most famous canal in Utrecht, dates from the year 1000 when it was still part of the moat of Castle Trecht. As the name suggests, the Vismarkt was the place where fish was traded in the early 1200s. A convenient location because the fish was kept fresh by hanging them bundled in the canal.

The Vismarkt is the oldest market in Utrecht. Around 1550, the two bridges that ended up at the market were merged, creating a larger square. In addition to the weekly Vismarkt, the Zoutmarkt (‘Salt Market’) used to be located here too. The streetscape changed relatively little throughout the years. A roof was eventually created to keep traders dry. Today you can no longer find fish on the Vismarkt, but instead you will find nice shops, cafes and cosy terraces.

    Lofen Palace

Logement Petit Beijers is spread over two canal houses. Vismarkt 16 and 18 are separated by a narrow alley, which can be recognised by the fence with a beautiful golden crown and the text ‘Paleis Lofen’. The Domplein, located at the back of Petit Beijers, is the place where Lofen Palace used to be, around 1040.

It was constructed by order of Emperor Henry III and is a place of significant historical value. In 1122, Emperor Henry V granted Utrecht official city rights here. The alley provided access to the cellars located under the buildings on the Domplein and thus the palace. When a major fire erupted in 1253, the palace was destroyed. All that remains are the pillars of the palace (which you can find in the basements of the surrounding buildings) and the beautiful gate between Vismarkt 16 and 18.

    Food & Drinks

    Soep-er

On the ground floor of the Logement is Soep-er, Utrecht's first soup bar, where we mix surprising flavours and ingredients in a bowl. Featuring traditional recipes with a personal twist, we serve the most versatile dish in the world: soup. Healthy, easy and cozy. On-the-go or dine-in. Also delicious: our homemade bakery and fresh coffee. All this on the ground floor of the Logement. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, snacks, a starter or a complete evening meal, you are always welcome at Soep-er. No time for a relaxing dinner? Take-away and home delivery are also possible! Throughout the entire year.

    SOUPS

Every day you can choose from three different, rotating soups. Fresh, full of flavour and creative in ingredients and presentation. All soups are available at the same price. The procedure is as follows: simply order at the bar, choose a portion (small, medium or large) and add fresh croutons and varying toppings as desired. The latter at no additional cost. The soups are served with fresh slices of sourdough bread from the Veldkeuken.Including virgin olive oil and salted butter, of course.

    BAKERY

What else are we known for besides our soups? How about our delicious rotating breakfast, homemade bakery and varied barista coffees. Everything is homemade and there are of course vegetarian and vegan options.

Our love for soup, having a good time together and enjoying food is certainly reflected in the overall atmosphere at Soep-er. Informal and lively with a fresh and contemporary look: the interior features lots of green and natural materials. A little rustic French countryside in the heart of Utrecht: enamel bowls on wooden planks, plants and flowers and raw wood.

Thanks to our relatively small assortment, you're guaranteed to enjoy fresh and high-quality products. We are also aware of the growing demand for convenience, speed and healthy food for people who do not always have the time or desire to prepare a meal for themselves. Nice and innovative! “We are eager to share our favourite restaurants, cafes and other hotspots with you, so that you can experience the best that Utrecht has to offer”. Please do not hesitate to ask us for advice during your stay!”
